Help…I’m Under Water!

It is time to once again remind you that the most intense rainstorm in Fox Valley history came in July (1996).  Who can say when it will happen again?  During a storm it is obviously important that excess water is pumped away from your home to avoid property damage.  That means sump pumps and back-up systems.

This summer, if we happen to have a lengthy power outage, a sump pump that includes a battery back-up system can be a real life saver and prevent water damage. Here is something to remember if you live in the Elgin area…if you have a sink or perhaps a toilet in your basement located beneath the sewer line, then you probably have or need a sewage ejector pump.

Hopefully, before any disastrous flooding occurs in the far Northwest Suburbs you will think of Tom’s Plumbing they have helped keep the greater Elgin, Bartlett, Streamwood area “high and dry” for decades.  Waiting until AFTER a major rainstorm such as we had in 1996 (look it up) may be too late!  Call Tom’s Plumbing at (847) 697-6444.

How to Spot Plumbing Scams.

Every once in a while, we think it is helpful to remind you that just like other professions ours has its share of scammers who will do unnecessary plumbing repair…much more than is required.  Hard working, honest plumbers are in the vast majority (even as we emerge from this national crisis), but we thought it might be a good time to warn you again.

Here are some ways to avoid plumbing repair scams –

1.  Look out for representatives who try to convince you that there are bigger problems.
2.  If you live alone, beware of the questions they are asking you.
3.  Make sure that any video inspections are actually live and being done on your home.
4.  Check out their background with such things as the Better Business Bureau.

Here at Tom’s Plumbing we want you to be informed…not oversold!  Tom’s Plumbing has served the Elgin area and its surrounding Northwest Chicagoland suburbs for decades and we do it with the utmost integrity.  Whatever your plumbing problem we hope you will think of us first.  We are Tom’s Plumbing at (847) 697-6444.
